- Q: What genre do you write?
- A: I primarily write women’s fiction with sweet, heartfelt romance. My stories often feature themes of community, belonging, personal growth, and second chances, all set in charming small towns with strong female protagonists.
- Q: Are your books clean or sweet romance?
- A: Yes, all of my books are considered “sweet” or “clean” or “closed-door” romance. You’ll find heartwarming connections and emotional depth without explicit scenes or strong language. They’re perfect for readers who enjoy feel-good stories.
- Q: Do your books need to be read in order?
- A: While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone story, many of my books are part of a series. For the best reading experience and to follow character arcs, I recommend reading them in the published order. You can find the READING ORDER HERE.
- Q: Where do you get the inspiration for your small towns and characters?
- A: I draw inspiration from quaint towns I’ve visited. (Both my parents grew up in small towns, and I loved visiting my grandparents in those small towns when I was growing up.) I also draw from personal experiences, and sometimes even just a fleeting image or a real-life conversation. My characters often spring from observations of everyday women facing challenges and triumphs.
- Q: What are the common themes found in your stories?
- A: My stories often explore themes of finding community and belonging, the power of friendship and family bonds, personal growth and self-discovery, and the beauty of second chances at love and life.
- Q: Are any of your characters based on real people?
- A: My characters are purely fictional, and they often start talking to me, demanding to be put in a story. I know, it sounds crazy, but that’s how it often happens.
- Q: How long does it take you to write a book?
- A: This varies greatly. Some books pour out of me, and I write them in a few weeks. Some take months. Then I send to my editor and do revisions, then off to my proofer.
- Q: Do you plan to write more books in Lighthouse Point?
- A: I never say never on going back and adding to a series. I also have the Christmas Seashells and Snowflakes series, where I set a new Christmas story in one of my story worlds each year.
- Q: Will you ever write in a different genre?
- A: Another I never say never answer. I love writing my women’s fiction/sweet romance books and will continue adding new series in this genre.
